This is an innovative and unusual field camera. The usual wooden base is replaced by telescoping metal tubes, the rear standard is able to slide along the tubes, for fine focusing the tubes are extended by a worm screw. Plates are held in metal double dark-slides, the slide holders clip into the reversing back.

The camera was advertised in sizes of quarter-plate to 10" x 12" as well as stereo. A simpler version was also advertised which did not have the extending base, it was also fitted with cloth rather than leather bellows.

The Zodiac could not have proved to be popular as it is not often found today.
