The Tropical version of the Sanderson field camera was advertised in 1904. It is similar to the Regular Popular model of that period but is made in teak with brass binding and pinned joints. At around this time the Regular Popular had a rack movement to the rear standard, previously found only on the A pattern. The Tropical remained on sale into the 1930s in the 10" x 12" size.

On the last example (above) the front standard is fitted with the improved method of holding the forks, a spring catch holds the struts either vertical or in a fully forward position, this feature was introduced in 1910. Robinson was a leading retailer in Singapore.
