Shutter:
Thornton-Pickard Snap Shot, speeds 1/15 - 1/90. Roller-blind. Serial no. I8473.

Construction:
Polished Honduran mahogany, brass fittings. Finger joints. Black square cornered leather bellows.

Format:
6 ½" x 4 ¾" plates held in double dark slides.

Focusing:
Bellows. Double extension. Rack and pinion movement to the inner frame.

Attributes:
Removable lens panel. Reversing back.

Movements:
Rising front, tilting back.

Williamson is best known for his role in the emerging world of film making. Prior to that, he ran a general chemist shop in Hove which sold photographic supplies. This camera was retailed by him and carries his name plaque, it is of a well-known design and would have been made by one of the dedicated camera manufacturers.
