This very odd camera was sold by Junior Army & Navy Stores, London, in the early 1900s, at the time they only supplied goods to service personnel. The camera is heavily brass bound as if for overseas use. It was for use on a tripod, there is no view-finder fitted, but has the form of a folding bed hand camera. The unusual point is that three dark slides are contained within the back portion of the camera, a door swings open giving access to the focusing screen and the slides. When not in use the camera resembles a wooden box, presumably it was felt by the person who commissioned it that it was desirable to keep the camera and slides together without using a carrying case.
