The Ensign Box-Form was made in several sizes this model being the smallest, they probably replaced the Scout range.

The Box-Form model was re-named Box Ensign in 1922, by 1926 the camera was changed from side loading to the more conventional rear loading. The new rear loading model was available with either a meniscus or rapid rectilinear lens. Portrait lenses were available for 3' or 6' focus with the meniscus and 2' 6" or 4' 6" with the rapid rectilinear lens. A tripod attachment was also available. Two sizes were produced - 2 ¼ B for 2 ¼" x 3 ¼" and 2 ½ for 2 ½"x 4 ¼" images.
