The No.2 Brownie was introduced in 1901. The first version had a fine-grain finish to the body and a detachable film advance key. In 1902 the key was permanently attached and pulled out to load the film. Further versions were produced into the 1930s.

This was the first camera designed at Kodak's Harrow factory. A number of colours were available when introduced - blue, black, green, grey, claret, brown and red. The blue and black finishes ceased in 1933, green the following year, production ended in 1935.
