The Glyphoscope was a cheaper option to the earlier Verascope, it was produced in three models and two sizes and was still advertised into the 1930s. Plates were held in single dark-slides rather than a magazine as on the Verascope. The Glyphoscope provided an excellent introduction to stereo photography, it was competitively priced and had the added feature that the shutter could be removed allowing the body and lenses to be used as a viewer. A slide holder with frosted glass was supplied with the camera to hold the diapositive.

  • Type 1. This was the original version, it had an ebonite body with the Glyphoscope name written across the full width of the camera. Weight 430 grams.
  • Type 2. This was similar to the Type 1 in having an ebonite body but was lighter in weight (presumably the body was thinner). The camera name was smaller and surrounded by a rectangular outline. Weight 345 grams.
  • Type 3. This model had a leather-covered wood body. Weight 320 grams.
These three models were offered concurrently in the 45 x 107 mm size. An advertisement from 1929 lists a 6 x 13 cm size.
