To operate the magazine the dark-slide is pulled out until it catches, the exposure is made, the magazine is then drawn out under the dark-slide to which it is attached by guide rails. The top (exposed) plate is held in the camera and falls to the bottom. When the magazine is pushed back it picks up the exposed plate which is then at the bottom of the stack.
