This is an uncommon and early strut camera. The struts are at each corner of the camera in an arrangement similar to the Ensignette made some years later. As well as the outer struts which guide the front standard into place, two struts inside the bellows hold the front standard steady. An optional iris diaphragm was offered. A 1903 advertisement states the dark-slides 'are now made of mahogany with celluloid shutters', the slide with this example is of metal and similar to the patent. The price was 30/-.

A superior model, the A1, was fitted with a diaphragm, tripod bush and brilliant finder.

The patent talks of the plate holder having perforations to print the plate number on the negative, that is not present on this example. The 'Tit-Bit' name was applied to a number of cameras by Tylar.
