The Focal Plane version of the Xit offered higher shutter speeds than the other models, it was made in sizes of quarter-plate, 5" x 4" and half-plate with several lens options. The price is roughly the same as a Xit fitted with a Goerz Sector shutter. A later model Anschütz shutter was fitted from 1905.

With dark slides the front focusing slot is used. The two rear slots are for changing boxes and other holders. The extension back allowed the Stigmat lens to be divided for long-focus work.
