Lens:
f4.5, 15 cm Zeiss Tessar, iris diaphragm to f45. Serial no. 862370 (c. 1928).

Shutter:
Focal-plane, speeds 1/3 - 1/2000, B, T. Speeds varied by retarding gear acting on second blind. Self-capping. Focusing position setting that holds the lower blind while top blind is wound up.

Construction:
Morocco leather covered aluminium alloy body, wood front standard, leather bellows.

Format:
9 x 12 cm plates.

Focusing:
Helical to 1.7 metre.

Attributes:
Reflex viewing through taking lens. Full-size ground glass screen. Wire finder with rear sight when used as a press camera.
Mirror raised by spring.
The telephoto lens screws into a flange mounted on the rear of the lens panel.

Movements:
Cross front.

  • f6.3, 25 cm Tele Tessar, iris diaphragm to f45. Focus to 3 metre. Lens cap. Serial no. 903615 (1929).
  • 4 single metal slides with 3 ¼" x 4 ¼" reducers. Film pack adapter with quarter-plate reducer. GR 10 filter for telephoto lens. Case with Westminster label.

Early models were produced at the time of the Zeiss-Ikon merger and carry Contessa-Nettel livery, later the Zeiss-Ikon logo was used. Shortly after the merger the front panel was streamlined. The clip-in arrangement for the front panel (similar to that used on the Deckrullo) was replaced and the wire frame finder could be pushed down into the front panel when not in use.

  • 1926 - models for 9 x 12 cm, f2.7 or f4.5 lenses. Clip-in lens panel and detachable wire finder.
  • 1928 - frame finder enclosed, f3.5 lens added.
  • 1929 - 6.5 x 9 cm size added.
  • 1932 - f2.8 Bio-Tessar lens replaced the f f2.7.

Code Names:
360/U or 859/7U - camera. 1725/30 - FPA reducer. 665/7 - single metal slides. 667/7 - FPA.
