Various improvements were made to the original Exakta, e.g. lever wind and an increased shutter speed range. The last improvement on the VP series was the provision to use plates in dark-slides. This version was sold as the model C which appeared in 1935 in a black and nickel finish and, later, in a chrome finish. The price was £32.0.0. Some late models of the C have the reduced speed range of 1/25 - 1/1000. The lens ring, which carries the serial number, is removed for use with plates. The VP range was not re-introduced following the war.
