The positive lens - engraved Multifex Positive Lens - is removable and can be used as a prime lens. A magnification of 3 gave a focal length of 22.5" at f22, a magnification of 6 gave a focal length of 45" at f45.

Telephoto attachment. Variable separation.Brass mount with rack and pinion movement. Scale marked 0 - 50 mm. One negative component is missing.
Designed by Captain Owen Wheeler, the negative group consists of three components that could be used separately or in conjunction giving a range of magnification up to 30x. Two sizes were made for quarter and half-plate, later only the half-plate is advertised.
The patent shows the three groups each having two elements, the focal lengths given are: B 65 mm; B1 30 mm and B2 50 mm. Later diagrams still show three groups but with different element configurations.
