The Magnar is an early fixed separation telephoto (focusing does change the separation to a limited extent). The lens covered a 9 x 12 cm plate and required only a six inch extension. It remained available for some years but the faster Tele-Tessar proved more popular.

The front group has two elements, the rear three elements.
