This was a popular post-war meter. The needle moves over a scale, the value given is transferred to the calculator and the shutter speed and aperture pairs can be read. The 1956 model incorporated a simple colour temperature meter. Five orange squares labelled 2600 - 10,000K vary in apparent colour as the light changes the square most closely matching a comparison strip gives a a rough idea of the colour temperature.

In use the film speed is set by lifting and turning a dial on the side of the meter, when taking a reading a pointer moves over a series of channels which indicate the shutter speed to use for a particular aperture, turning the dial on the side of the meter changes the aperture and the shutter speeds. The meter was sold in different finishes, including white, red/white and black/grey.

The unusual aspect of this meter is the removable plates that fit into a slot. Each plate is for a different film speed and lies just below the meter needle. On the face of the plates are concentric scales for different shutter speeds.

In use the correct plate is inserted and the reading taken, the meter needle will show the aperture to use for a particular shutter speed.

There are four removable plates carrying scales on each side and one fixed set of scales.

  • 26 Sch, 25 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200. f1.4 - f32.
  • 29 Sch, 50 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500. f1.4 - f45.
  • 22 Sch, 10 ASA, 8 Weston. 1/30, 1/50, 1/75, 1/100. f1.4 - f16.
  • 23/24 Sch, 10/12 Weston, 12/16 ASA. 1/30, 1/50, 1/75, 1/100. f1.4 - f22.
  • 25 Sch, 16 Weston, 20 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200. f1.4 - f32.
  • 27/28 Sch, 24/32 Weston, 32/40 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200. f1.4 - f32.
  • 30/31 Sch, 64/80 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500. f1.4 - f45.
  • 32 Sch, 100 ASA. 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500. f1.4 - f64.

Each removable plate also carries a scale of light values, the value can be set on a calculator on the face of the meter carrying a scale for film speed and shows the shutter speed and aperture pairs. The fixed scale in the meter only shows the light value.

The meter was based on patents by Paul Poirette (US2550936) and manufactured in France.
