The Minifex was a precision miniature camera unlike many sub-35 mm cameras of the period. A wide choice of lenses was available fitted in either Compur or Gauthier shutters.

The camera was designed and patented by Fritz Kaftanski who later designed the Sida camera and the Stylophot. The company name changed to Minifex G.M.B.H. around 1934.
